OK so on to her outfit.

Princess Costume 2

Today one of my awesome best friends, Aubrey is helping me out. She and her sister came with us to the Renaissance Fair two years ago right before they moved to Africa as missionaries. This is the dress that she wore. I think she looks absolutely gorgeous! (My room may have looked like a twister hit it the next day but it was totally worth it!) Oh and the giant turkey legs were delicious. We had so much fun that year! Despite the fact that we all we're not wearing sunscreen and it was very very hot that day.

Over Dress: My mom made for me years ago.
Off the Shoulder White Shirt: She borrowed from my closet.
Long Green Skirt: Thrift Store.
Boots: My sisters? Not really sure where those came from.
Jewelry:
Gold Coin Earrings: My mom gave me and she borrowed them
Cross Necklace: My Sisters
Crown: She bought at a booth there.

Makeup & Hair: eye shadow, blush, I think mascara and we spayed her down (or is it up?) with glitter. She has her hair in a simple braid with a part on each side of her face pulled out to frame her face.

Princess Costume 1

Today my beautiful and wonderful twin Brianna is helping me out. Doesn't she look pretty? She wore this outfit 2 years ago, and really loved it! I mean she was just GLOWING when she saw the dress and you could tell that she felt pretty in it.  Isn't that so important?  Everyone needs to feel pretty once in awhile, right?  It reminds me of this day last year.  Man, it was a horrible day... I had gone on errands with my dad up in Kentucky and we started having car trouble.  When I say trouble I mean it felt like the car was shaking apart.  Next thing I know the hubcap goes flying off the car on the freeway and the lug nuts go flying (See, I told you it was a bad day.)  It was hot, and I was scared.

We limped to a repair shop, had to hang out in the sweltering humid day.  At the end of the day, we are driving a rental car, dad pulls into a pizza place and goes in to get us dinner to take home.  A lady pulls up beside us and I didn't even want to look over at her. I was hot, sweaty and my hair was a mess.  The license plate on the back of the car said Florida and she was from Florida.  She came up to me asking where in Florida I was from.  I explained that we were not, but that it was only a rental car.  She seemed disappointed to have us not be neighbors and began to turn to go.  Then she said, You look really beautiful."  I didn't know what to say.  Who me? Today? Now? I smiled and thanked her and God for giving me a little hug on a very bad day.

Well, here we go.  Here is my sister in her princess dress costume.

Over Dress: Goodwill Prom Dress
Long Sleeve Under Dress: My mom made (It's actually a bible costume from when we were in our church's Easter play from years ago.)
Boots: Co-op (their riding boots)
Jewelry:
Cross necklace: A gift
Crown: Hobby Lobby
She chose not to wear glitter or earrings but did use some blush and like me forgot to use sunscreen (oops)... I think she had a waterfall braid starting at her temples and brought back and fastened together in the back of her head.  I will have a tutorial on how to do waterfall braids up soon for those that are interested. :)

Hey guys! My family has a tradition for May, and if you live in TN. you may have heard about it. We always goes to the Tennessee Renaissance Festival, and we always dress up. This outfit is from two years ago and actually was last minute. The dress I was planning on wearing ended up not fitting right so my mom and I came up with this. Beautiful Embroidered Linen Skirt Outfit

Good morning. Sorry for disappearing its been a busy couple of weeks, the baby is doing great and is so adorable! He is 4 weeks old today, and along with it comes his one month photo shoot. The prison still hasn't gotten him cleared to visit his mommy.  Lil' Britches went back to live with his parents two weeks ago, we miss him a lot. The house is very quiet without him. The weeks are now full of planting seeds, working in the yard, chores, school, blogging, meeting my friends in Africa to chat online, taking care of the baby, sewing and probably a lot more that can't remember -mostly due to the fact I didn't go to bed until almost 2 this morning and then got up at 7-.
This week I am wearing a white square neck shirt, white skirt, black leggings, black high-heels, a silver necklace and blue and green earrings.
Shirt: Thrift Store
Skirt: Thrift Store
Leggings: Walmart
Shoes: Borrowed From My Mom
Jewelry: Necklace: A Gift Earrings: A Gift

Tiered Denim Skirt And Peasant Blouse

Hi everyone! Who's excited that March is finally here? This week marks our first week of gardening season for us, Whoohoo! I love getting my hands dirty doing this then at the end of the season you see that that bit of soil under your nails that drove you crazy was well worth it, and then the hours spent in the steamy hot kitchen as we can it as a family. It's one of my favorite things about summer.

Another thing I am still getting use to is Lil' Britches's morning routine. Early to rise, wake everyone that is still trying to sleep for a few moments longer, than its off to "EAT" and whoever is still really wanting sleep pulls the covers over there head and tries to either sleep or just straight pretends to be. As soon as Lil' Britches feet again touch the floor it's for the purpose of getting people out of bed... (this is the point where the very brave of us stay in bed but the rest are bolting out of it) And once every one is out of bed its time to PLAY! While the rest of us try cold water or coffee to wake us up (which by the way my sister makes some killer coffee and potatoes but that is a different story).

Today we are iced in and my dad had to stay home. Can I say that I am glad and not sound awful?  We miss  him so much and he has been so busy working.  By the way, can you sled on ice? But it was a lot of fun to be able to Skype with my Africa living friends again today! Anyway that's my week... peppered with groceries trips, chores, planning of meals, sewing, school, and a few other things. Oh and the baby was born this morning at 1 A.M.!!!!!! Yes I know, don't decorate with exclamation points, but I am excited about this one. The phone was ringing off the hook this morning! We all jump when we hear it and then... it's the hospital telling us we will be picking him up by the end of the week.  Please pray for him and his momma.  It would mean so much to her, and us.

This week I am wearing a Blue Jean Skirt, Brown Camisol, Brown and Cream Lace Tank, Brown Sweater, Brown Scarf, Black Rubber Boots.
Shirt: A Gift
Tank: Ross
Boots: Walmart
Skirt: Vintage Store
Scarf: A Gift
Jewlery: Necklace: Lost River Cave Earrings: Walmart
Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. James 1:2-4

My Crazy Life -With A Side Of News

Hey everyone! Sorry for not posting much is is tough running two blogs by yourself and keeping up with school, spending time for the family and caring for Lil' Britches (The child our family is caring for though the ministry we are working with) caring for our much loved animals, keeping up with my hobbies ect. So I have been doing some thinking and shifting prioritizes.
Brown Shirt: Thrift Store
Blue Printed Skirt: Thrift Store
Brown Corduroy Jacket: Thrift Store
Blue Jean Leggings: Walmart
Gray Boots: Ross
Jewelry: Necklace: A Gift Earrings: A Gift (Not from Africa :) )
I used some ribbon for a headband.

First, as much as I love doing My Crazy Life - A Week Of Modest Clothing- I just don't have the time and especially with the baby coming (another child we will be taking care of through this ministry). So I will be taking it down to one outfit per week. Sorry ladies, but I hope you will stay with us!

Second, I talked to my very dear friends who moved to Africa three years ago as missionaries (ever wonder how I come up with Jewelry from Africa?) about joining this blog as co-writers! They think it will be a lot of fun and said they will think about it! Keep your fingers crossed!
