For Everything There Is A Season

We stand around your bed as the sunshine streams in the window with tears running down our faces. The door squeals as it opens and your sweet nurse enters with tears in her eyes, and she joins our huddled group.

Christmas carols play softly. You love Christmas so much... Sirens in the distance mark another ambulance's path and another life forever changed. You have touched so many lives. You are loved so much. A friend slips in and comes to your side, it is agony to watch the monitor as seconds pass without a breath but it's even worse not to watch. How did we get to this point?  I'm so tired.

I'll be home for Christmas... If only in my dreams...

Notifications pop up on my Facebook from friends and family sharing old pictures of you and words that though they are hundreds of miles away to be whispered in your ear.
There is a time for everything,

and a season for every activity under the heavens:

a time to be born and a time to die,

a time to plant and a time to uproot,

a time to kill and a time to heal,

a time to tear down and a time to build,

a time to weep and a time to laugh,

a time to mourn and a time to dance,

a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,

a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing,

a time to search and a time to give up

,

a time to keep and a time to throw away,

a time to tear down and a time to mend,

a time to be silent and a time to speak,

a time to love and a time to hate,

a time for war and a time for peace.

  2. You keep up the great work. You share a message for our youth today. I would encourage you to speak to them in helping them to understand very clearly; in America we have the guaranteed inalienable right to be safe and protected equally under the law. If ANYONE is physically, sexually, or terrorizing them in some form every person should report so that help can be provided. If living in another country, the highest law of mankind United Nations General Assembly, wrote into law Universal Declaration of Human Rights. The first Articles 1-8 guarantee that all human beings have a right to be safe in their person; to live free, free from harm & free from fear of harm. The more youth we can encourage to speak up for themselves, to believe everything about them matters, they were not brought into this world to be beaten or believe that their only worth is in servitude or sexual object for another. Teaching youth to speak to someone who is of authority to assist them and their families when a behavior of dominance and terror are happening inside their home, this is how we end the violence in our human society. They can end the violence and crime, the drugs and school violence. Our youth are the power to change our world. They can save countless lives from the madness of trauma so severe they feel suicide is their only hope for rescue. You as a youth with a voice have the power to start the greatest movement known to mankind, ending the disease that invades more lives, causes more physical and mental illness, and leads to more deaths than any disease in history. Believe in the true value of your work and the lives you can change, inspiring hope, happiness and love for all persons. #EveryLifeMatters Trish McKnight :)
