Risen And The Young Messiah Movie Reviews


If you're looking for a movie to go see as a family or your just bored and looking for something to do, try these out.

Risen:
A roman tribune arrives at a crossroad when he's tasked to investigate the disappearance of Jesus's body following the Crucifixion. His quest is to disprove rumors of a risen Messiah. As his journey takes him to places never dreamed of, the tribune discovers the truth that he's been seeking.

Starring: Joseph Fiennes, Cliff Curtis & Tom Felton

Content: This movie is free of cussing and doesn't have much violence except for a few battles and a few flashback memories but nothing gory and NO sexual content. May not be appropriate for children of a young age, viewer discretion advised for children 9 and under.

The Young Messiah:
Have you ever wondered what Jesus might have been like as a little boy? Here's your chance to find out. Follow a fictional year in the life of Mary, Joseph and 7-year-old Jesus as they embark on a journey from Egypt to Nazareth after the young boy brings someone back to life. After hearing about the incident a scared King Herod orders the death of the child. A roman centurion -tasked with orders to take care of the threat- searches for them. As his parents worry about his safety, Jesus's curiosity pushes him to understand more about the world and his gift.

Based on the novel Christ the Lord: Out of Egypt by Anne Rice.

Starring: Sara Lazzaro, Vincent Walsh, Adam Greaves-Neal, Jonathan Bailey & Sean Bean

Content: This movie has one cussing incident where Satan calls Jesus's mother the word for a prostitute to get under his skin. It doesn't have much violence except for a few battles etc. but nothing gory and NO sexual content. May not be appropriate for children of a young age, viewer discretion advised for children 10 and under.
